84 COALDALE, AB - Chalk up a pair of four point nights for James Foxall and Braden Horon, as the Coaldale Copperheads double up the Ponoka Stampeders on home ice Saturday night. Foxall chipped in three goals and a helper, while Horon did the opposite with one goal and three assists. The Snakes' success came in large part due to their strong powerplay, going 4/8 on the night.
54 COCHRANE, AB - Despite leading 4-3 after 40 minutes of play, the Cochrane Generals couldn't quite hold on, as the High River Flyers came back with a two-goal third period to beat the Gens 5-4. The Flyers tied it up just 1:09 into the final frame on Cody Edwards 14th of the season. Nine minutes later, Dan McIntosh scored the eventual winner, as High River held on for the victory, handing the Generals their second loss of the weekend.
54 (OT) DIDSBURY, AB - This one needed overtime, as the Central Division matchup played four periods before the Mountainview Colts eventually came out on top, 5-4 over Banff. This game looked to be one-sided early, as the Colts scored three quick goals before the game was seven minutes old. The Bears would eventually tie it up, sending it into overtime...but in the extra frame, a timely goal from Brian Robertson, his first of the season, scored the Colts the win, 3:09 into OT.
73 RED DEER, AB - The game itself wasn't the story in this one. Early in the third period, a linebrawl broke out between the Red Deer Vipers and Strathmore Wheatland Kings, with 10 players getting ejected in the melee. The Vipers eventually one the game 7-3...but as a result of the brawl, 8 players received 2-game suspensions...four players from each team, for being the second fight at the stoppage of play.
