Mike Carlsen, last year's Head Coach, stepped down to accept a job as the Head Coach of the Swiss International School and Educational Center (SISEC). They have midget aged Players/Students from Switzerland, Lativa, USA, Japan and Italy. Similiar to the Edge school where Mike had worked for the past 5 years. He spent 4 Years with the Thunder, 3 as Assistant Coach and last year has Head Coach. We hated to see him go as he a real pro as a coach and we wished him well in his future coaching and hockey life. However, we must quickly move on.
The Thunder have hired a New Head Coach, Darryl Einarson, now of Calgary but formely of Manitoba. Darryl had taken a year off but was most recently the GM of the Olds Grizzly Jr A hockey, AJHL, for 2 years,. Previously he coached and managed for numerous years Midget AAA and Jr A Hockey clubs in Manitoba. He also played and coached Senior AAA for 8 years. Played 4 Yrs CIS hockey for U of Manitoba.
We are very pleased to have him on board for the upcoming season with Darryl at the helm . Chris Crowell will be returning as his Assistant Coach.......
